Job Summary: The Carpenter constructs, erects, installs, and repairs structures and components of structures made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials.
Scope of Responsibilities:
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements.
Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes and specifications.
Ensure equipment maintenance, walk-around, and daily assessments are completed.
Ensure tools and other equipment are in good working condition and needs or repairs are communicated to appropriate stakeholders.
Understand and comply with company policies, procedures and safety requirements, as well as the clients.
Maintain current working knowledge of regulatory bodies: OHS Regulations, Employment Standards, and Saskatchewan Ministry of Highways.
Communicate any anomalies or unusual circumstances to upper management.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
+5 years of road maintenance and/or civil construction experience.
Must possess strong problem solving and communication skills, as well as the ability to handle changing demands.
Strong Focus on Safety.
Proficient in English, both written and spoken.
Safety Certification Requirements:
oWHMIS 2015
oFirst Aid, CPR, AED
oJourneyperson Certificate (considered an asset)
Candidates will have to submit for appropriate drug and alcohol screening.
