Description

The Civil Foreperson is the operational expert responsible for a crew in the field operation of a technical discipline.

Scope of Responsibilities:  
Direct day to day tasks for the field crew to competently and effectively execute construction activities including but not limited to, surface prep activities, apply asphalt emulsions/sealer oil applications and operate necessarily machinery safely and effectively.
Determine crew, machinery and material requirements necessary given vehicle capacities, traffic conditions as well as safety, quality and schedule requirements. Helps maintain inventory levels and cycle counts as needed.
Coordinate with Project Superintendent and Safety Manager on Work Plans and Traffic Management/Control Plans to ensure traffic control devices are installed and positioned and traffic operations are in place to provide a safe work zone.
Actively promote a safe work environment and ensure the health and safety of workers by conducting hazard assessments and daily toolbox meetings.
Provide coaching, training and mentoring of employees as needed.
Ensure equipment maintenance, walk-around, and daily assessments are completed.
Ensure tools and other equipment are in good working condition and needs or repairs are communicated to appropriate stakeholders.
Document and report on site activities, inspection logs, incidents and violations.
Complete and submit various documents: timesheets, toolbox meetings, daily hazard assessments, work orders.
Understand and comply with company policies, procedures and safety requirements, as well as the clients.
Maintain current working knowledge of regulatory bodies: OHS Regulations, Employment Standards, and Saskatchewan Ministry of Highways.
Other duties as assigned.
