Responsibilities:
-Actively demonstrate a commitment to Safety and Environmental stewardship
-Develop and apply knowledge and expertise in process design and metallurgical unit operations, and provide training to others
-Develop and apply knowledge of the process data systems (data historian, SQL/Access and visualization tools) to support reporting, troubleshooting and investigative functions
-Timely delivery of mill metallurgical accounting and performance reporting, including updating production/reagent forecasting
-Review and update of Mill Sampling and Operating Guidelines
-Work within and support the Change Control process
-Support commissioning of new equipment/systems
-Apply investigative and continuous improvement principles at personal, group and operational levels
-Provide technical support/context to all mill departments (Operations, Maintenance, Safety, Environment etc.)
-Liaise with resources as required
-Conduct metallurgical test work and fill in for Metallurgical Technician in their absence
-Other duties as assigned
Skills and Qualifications:
-Bachelor or Masters degree in Chemical or Metallurgical Engineering and eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer with APEGS
-4 years experience is preferred
-Experience and knowledge of industrial processes and equipment
-Experience in OSIsoft PI, including PI Asset Framework and PI Vision is an asset
-Understanding of the conventional unit processes in mineral processing and hydrometallurgy
-Ability to innovate in the areas of uranium processing with a focus on plant efficiency, capital and operating cost optimization and compliance to environmental regulations
-Working knowledge of risk assessment (HAZID/HAZOP) will be an asset
Work Location & Schedule:
-McClean Lake site
-14 days in and 14 days out rotating schedule
-Normally an 11 hour work day, although some activity outside or normal working hours may be required
