Description

Our busy medical clinic located in North West Regina requires a Temporary Full-Time Registered Nurse to work Monday - Friday. Hours are 8:30 am - 5:00 pm. This position covers a one year maternity leave and will begin once we have found a suitable candidate.

You will be responsible for assisting the physician in the care of the patient by performing diagnostic procedures and/or medical treatments, and providing preventative medicine and education.  You are also required to assist with stocking supplies, booking tests and other various tasks.  The Nursing Station operates Monday - Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. This is a Union position.

Education and Experience:
    Typically the knowledge, skills and abilities required for this position are obtained through a Degree in Nursing from a recognized post-secondary institution combined with 1-2 years related experience in a medical office environment. You must have a valid license with the Saskatchewan Registered Nurses Association. Experience with EMR and Accuro are an asset.

Duties & Responsibilities may include:
    Performing various diagnostic procedures on patients (ECG, Spirometry, audiogram, blood pressure, etc)
    Collecting lab specimens and tests as required or sending to appropriate lab for additional testing
     Administering injections/vaccines as required including IM, SC, ID
    Assist in preparing and stocking physicians offices and treatment rooms, providing wound care
    Ordering general nursing supplies and standard medications
    Chart all nursing procedures on patients EMR
    Preparing surgical and suture trays as necessary and removing sutures and staples
    Cleaning all surgical equipment and speculums and sterilization of same using autoclave or sterilization solution.
