Description

Mosquito School is located on Mosquito Grizzly Bear's Head Lean Man First Nation, approximately 35km south of Battleford, SK. Successful applicants will be employees of Mosquito Grizzly Bear's Head Lean Man First Nation.

The Special Education Teacher will provide unique education and training opportunities for students with physical, emotional, mental, and learning disabilities.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Special Education Teacher duties can vary depending on the grade taught and where they're employed which include;
         Liaise with other classroom teachers, school psychologists, learning disabilities specialists, speech/hearing specialists, and social workers to provide an integrated plan for developing the capacities of their students.
          Plan and prepare courses and subjects in accordance with policy and curriculum
         Incorporate First Nations curriculum and ways of learning into all programs
         Set learning goals for each student, assess their progress, and record their evaluations.
         Develop academic and social/life skills programming for students Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), learning disabilities, and other special needs in a flexible and supportive learning environment.
         Teaching a small group of special needs students both inside and outside of the classroom
         Preparation of lesson plans and conducting assessments
          Reading and interpreting psycho-educational reports and writing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
         Reports to the Principal/Director of Education;
