Description

The Facilities Manager will demonstrate behaviors and actions that align with and strengthen the Moose Jaw Co-ops values, mission, and vision.  

The Facilities Manager will be responsible for overseeing all maintenance activities in all of our locations, this includes: Performing regular site inspections, maintaining records of maintenance, adhering to maintenance schedules, and following up on action items on fire extinguishers, heating and cooling systems, refrigeration units, mechanical room, plumbing, electrical, parking lot, display fixtures, entrances and exits, tools and equipment, etc.

Responsibilities also include managing the department workforce, delegating tasks, and assisting in completing tasks as required. As well as achieving established objectives in terms of brand, service levels, quality, and timeliness of delivery, and identifying areas for improvement.

The Facilities Manager will be responsible for contacting, hiring, and coordinating of third-party contractors when necessary.

Candidates must have:
    A trade certification in either millwright, carpentry, electrical or plumbing.
    5 years plus of facilities management experience preferred; commercial construction experience would be an asset.
    Be knowledgeable and understanding of commercial buildings and relative legislative requirements.
    Be capable of demonstrating worksite mobility (i.e., lifting up to 100lbs, climbing ladders, working in a variety of weather conditions).
    Have a valid Canadian driver's license with a clean driving record.
    Some evening and weekend work may be required.
