Early Childhood Educator - EARLY001590-00001

DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Location: Moose Jaw, SK                    
Position: Part-time Term (6 month term)                
Posting closing Date: September 21, 2021

The Early Childhood Educator provides care for the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive needs of toddlers and young children in a safe and healthy environment. The Early Childhood Educator collaborates with the supervisor and all other members of the program team to provide nurturing care, project-based learning, and developmentally appropriate activities in a group setting.  

Qualifications
Education and Professional Certification
A certificate or diploma in Early Childhood Education, or an ECE 1, ECE II, or ECE III equivalency.

Experience
Up to one (1) year of experience working with infants, toddlers, and/or young children.

Skills and Characteristics
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Duties and Responsibilities
Services
Develop and implement programming and daily activities based on EELC programming expectations, using a balance between educator led and child directed.

Leadership
Provide direction, guidance, and mentorship to new employees, practicum students, and volunteers.

Management of Resources
Identify required resources for programming and daily activity plans.

Safety
Maintain, promote, and reinforce safe work habits, practices, and procedures.

Additional Requirements
The incumbent is responsible for completing all mandatory training requirements for the position as per agency policy and guidelines.

Wage range for this position is $20.29 to $26.22 per hour depending on education and experience.
