Description

Avena Foods is actively seeking a Maintenance Technician for the Regina operation. This position is responsible for installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining all equipment in accordance with safety, preventive, predictive and productive maintenance systems

Key Responsibilities
    Maintain production line equipment & tools to ensure safety & minimize downtime
    Perform preventative maintenance, servicing, troubleshooting and repair on all processing equipment, including bucket elevators, conveyors, blowers, milling machines and packing equipment to ensure reliability and safety
    Focus on safe working practices and quality workmanship
    Complete assigned work orders on a timely fashion
    Ensure good housekeeping within entire building
    Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service

Skills and Qualifications:
    High school diploma, GED or equivalent
    Completion of college/CEGEP/vocational or technical training preferred
    Millwright License or equivalent will be considered an asset
    Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a similar role;
    Experience in preventative maintenance; electrical, mechanical and pneumatic trouble shooting;
    Food Grade Manufacturing experience or Industrial Agricultural maintenance;
    Strong attention to detail
    Ability to work independently in a busy environment
    Ability to react to urgent production maintenance issues.
    Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment
    Able to operate forklift and aerial lifts
    Valid Drivers License
    Physical ability to lift to 20 Kg
    Ability to respond to an after-hour emergency call if needed
    Flexibility to work overtime as required
