The Town of La Ronge is a scenic lake-side community offering a full range of services and amenities located in the heart of Northern Saskatchewan with a population of approximately 3,000. The community offers progressive growth amidst the natural beauty of the areas surrounding Lac La Ronge Provincial Park. Visitors travel from around the globe to experience the outdoor adventures that this region offers, and La Ronge is the hub of that region.
Reporting to the Recreation Facility Operations Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for general labour, maintenance, operation, and repair activities on all Town of La Ronge parks, open spaces, and recreation facilities assist with the set-up and clean-up of special functions, and performs daily safety and maintenance checks on all equipment and facilities, as well as performs other related duties as required. As a condition of employment, the individual is expected to work year-round in a variety of weather conditions and be physically aptitude to perform strenuous work. Employment will be 38.75 hours/week and candidates must be available to work evenings and weekends.
The successful candidate must possess Standard First Aid training and have a valid Saskatchewan Class 5 drivers license. Prior knowledge or experience in the arena and/or park maintenance would be considered an asset. The incumbent shall be willing to take professional development training including the successful completion of Arena Operator 1&2, Building Maintenance 1&2, Parks Stream 1&2, Playground Safety Awareness, and Curling Ice Technician.
Please note that the Town of La Ronge practices global reference checks, and the successful candidate must submit to a criminal record check, including a vulnerable sector check. The hourly wage for this position is $23.71 - $26.27.
