1. Interview and select candidates for programs
2. Administer occupation and skills assessments; assess candidates education & employment qualifications and histories; interpret results.
3. Plan, develop and deliver classroom and workplace instruction,l facilitate the learning of work related skills. May include essential skills development, employment preparation, job search and personal management skills.
4. Manage within an adult centered learning environment
5. Evaluate learners progress in essential skills, labour market preparation and work experience courses.
6. Maintain current labour market information and contact with employers.
7. Promote program and learners workplace partnerships
8. Work learners to help them select and secure work placements appropriate to their interests, skills and career/job choices.
9. Liaise with employers, facilitate the placement of learners at the workplace, help with developing training plans
10. Visit learners at workplaces; support the evaluation of students performance; provide feedback and coaching to learners and workplace supervisors.
11. Complete and maintain learner records
Required Qualifications, Skills and Abilities (QSA)
Diploma or Degree in related field (i.e. Career development, Employment Counselling, Education, Workplace Training, Human Resources), or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience and training in group facilitation, teaching, and human resource development
Experience in the use of career and skills assessment tools
Demonstrated competence using the internet, e-mail, MS Office Suite software.
Ability to work effectively with learners and employers from diverse backgrounds
Must possess a valid drivers license.
