Sophie's Cafe (located in the Aquifer Distribution building) is looking to add a Cafe Attendant to our busy restaurant! The schedule for this role will consist of 1 - 2 shifts per week, Monday to Friday, about 6 hours per shift. The cafe is open from 7:00am to 3:00pm, with no weekend shifts. This position is customer-service focused with an emphasis on food safety and quality. The ideal candidate for this position has a friendly and outgoing demeanor, is able to handle pressure, and is familiar with safe food handling and preparation.
Responsibilities:
Sets up food service, kitchen, or salad area facilities, equipment and utensils. May operate cooking or bakery equipment as assigned.
Prepares hot and cold meat and vegetable dishes, beverages, coffees, salads, sandwiches, bakery items, and salad dressings.
Serve a range of hot and cold food items from counters to customers.
Replenishes food, cutlery, glassware, and other miscellaneous items as needed.
Clean and maintain work areas including tables, dishes and equipment.
Manage the till to ring customers up correctly.
Skills:
Food Safety Certified or ability to become certified.
Ability to lift and manipulate heavy objects.
Skill in cooking and preparing a variety of foods.
Knowledge of food preparation and presentation methods, techniques, and quality standards.
Job Requirements:
Experience in customer service required.
At least 1 year of related experience to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Food Safety Certified is an asset.
Must be able to stand for long periods.
