Description

Position Summary:
    The Public Works Foreman reports directly to the Chief Administrative Officer, leading the Public Works Department
    Public Works Foreman is responsible for the effective planning, development, administration, management and operation of the Towns transportation, water and sewer services, in accordance with related legislation, policies and regulations

Key Roles and Responsibilities:
1.    Oversee and provide direction for all Public Works functions; transportation, water and sewer services
2.    Participate in the development and implementation of operational planning as well as policies, procedures, goals and objectives
3.    Responsible for the long-term planning, including updating of infrastructure and equipment
4.    Draft annual operating and capital budget present to Chief Administrative Officer by March 1st of each year, and present to Council if requested to do so
5.    Responsible for long range and strategic planning (i.e. drafting a five-year Capital Plan)

Education and Experience:
    The ideal candidate is a proven leader, with relevant education and/or senior management experience
    Hold a Water Treatment Class II or higher certification and Wastewater Collection Level I, or be willing to obtain certification as soon as possible upon commencement of employment
    A minimum of 5 years Public Works experience, preferably in a management role

Compensation:
    Hourly wage between $35.92 and $39.92, dependent on qualifications and experience, as per The Wage Negotiation and Rates Policy #2021-001)
