Job Description: Reporting to a Manager of Population Health, the Senior Epidemiologist is a member of the provincial department of Population Health and works with partners across and external to the SHA (e.g., Health Quality Council, Indigenous Services Canada, Saskatchewan Ministry of Health, community based organizations) and builds effective working relationships within the QSS portfolio (e.g., First Nations and Mtis Health, Strategy and Innovation, Academics and Learning), and with Medical Health Officers, Primary Health Care (e.g., Health Networks, Clinical Integration), Provincial Programs (e.g., Laboratory Services) and other corporate support departments (e.g., Digital Health), to inform the health system. Under the direction of the SHA Senior Medical Health Officer (SMHO) and other MHOs, the Senior Epidemiologist reports on the health of the population (e.g., communicable and chronic diseases, injuries, social and structural determinants of health and health equity) through health equity integrated health status reporting at provincial, SHA Area and Health Networks levels. They develop recommendations aimed at health system partners (inter-jurisdictionally and inter-sectorally) to improve overall population health. The Senior Epidemiologist advises and works closely with the SMHO and other MHOs, Executive Directors, and Directors to have direct and significant influence on high risk and high community impact strategies and directions, including community and organizational policies and budgets. Provincial workflow and assignments will vary and be determined by SHA strategic priorities. Geographic location to be negotiated.
Required Qualifications

Master's degree in Epidemiology, or master's degree in Public Health with additional fellowship experience.
