Job Description: The Chaplain is responsible for the planning, designing, organizing and managing of the spiritual/pastoral services consistent with the spiritual/pastoral services consistent with the mission, vision, values, politics and procedures of the Sunrise Health Region, St. Paul Lutheran Home and the Saskatchewan Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada (ELCIC).  The Chaplain meets the spiritual needs of residents, their families and members of the Home staff and others.
Required Qualifications

Recommended by an Ecclesiastical Authority
Ordained Pastor of the ELCIC
Experience
At least five (5) years experience in a health care setting; preferably supportive care.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Ability to work independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
Superior interpersonal, communication and writing skills
Excellent public relations skills
Ability and knowledge to work effectively with grief, dying and death
Be objective, non-judgmental and confidential with a caring, approachable, flexible personality
Ability to plan, manage and implement change effectively
Ability to function in an environment of numerous interruptions and emotionally charged situation
Understanding of Ecumenism and ability to work effectively with the various religious affiliations within the community
Ability to work independently as an enthusiastic, dedicated self-starter, and meet goals in a timely manner

Successful candidates will be required to provide:
       Current Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check (less than 6 months old)
       Certificate/Diploma/Degree as required for position
