Calian is a Canadian-based, publicly traded company that prides itself in its international reputation for excellence and long-standing history of continual growth. This opportunity is with the Advanced Technologies division (formerly SED Systems) located in Saskatoon.
As a key member of the Human Resources team, you will have a primary focus on participating in full life cycle recruitment, from talent sourcing and attracting candidates to interviewing and hiring the best employees for key roles. The ideal candidate will be a persistent self-starter with excellent relationship building, strong decision making skills and impressive attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
-Partner with hiring managers to understand hiring requirements and to strategize and implement recruitment plans
-Assist in the creation of job descriptions and postings
-Review candidate resumes and assess suitability to company and job position
-Conduct phone screens and initial interviews recommending viable candidates to the hiring manager
-Represent Calian at career events, online through social media and in person to develop relationships
-Arrange and participate in all interviews
-Maintain informed of the recruiting industry trends to identify new trends and best practices
-Assist in brainstorming, identifying, and implementing ongoing improvements to processes
-Ensure compliance with applicable employment laws and regulations, along with company policies and procedures
-Facilitate onboarding for new employees
Qualifications:
-3+ years of demonstrated recruitment experience
-Strong knowledge of applicant sourcing techniques
-Strong sense of urgency with impeccable time management and multi-tasking skills
-Excellent presentation, communication (written and oral), planning and organizational skills
-Proven interviewing and negotiating skills
