Description

SaskExpress consists of the province's premiere touring musical theatre company and two recreational and competitive Musical Theatre Studios. We provide education and training in the performing arts as well as performance opportunities to talented emerging artists from throughout the province.

SaskExpress is currently looking for a part-time bookkeeper to join our Not-for-profit, Charitable organization.

Reporting to the Business Manager, the core duties of the bookkeeper include but are not limited to:
-    Handle all day to day accounting functions, as well as month-end and year-end adjusting entries.
-    Prepare monthly financial statements for Finance and Board Meetings.
-    Prepare financial reports for events and projects as needed.
-    Prepare financial materials for annual audit
-    Administer accounts payable and receivables
-    Prepare and deliver bank deposits of all monies received in Regina office.
-    Monitor credit card statements and issue payments.  
-    Control financial aspects of all fundraising and performance events.  
-    Studio Fees:  Track studio fee revenues and receivables
-    Prepare and file annual Corporations return
-    File annual Canada Revenue Agency Charitable return (prepared by auditor)
-    Prepare and file semi-annual GST rebate returns.
-    Liaise with payroll service.
-    Assist in grant applications as needed.
-    Issue tax receipts for all eligible donations received.
-    Maintain orderly filing of all financial records.

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
-    Experience using Sage accounting software
-    Standard Accounting knowledge
-    Experience within a not for profit setting
-    High attention to detail
-    Data entry skills
-    Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
-    Produce work with a high level of accuracy
-    Professionalism and organization skills
