Description

We are looking for Two (2) Full-time experienced Indian Cuisine Cooks.

Working in Canada:
You must be legally entitled to work in Canada to apply as the employer does not have a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) that would support a foreign worker.

Who can apply:   Canadian Citizen, Permanent Residents residing in Canada or abroad.

Job Duties:
Prepare a full line of authentic Indian specialty foods (appetizers, tandoori meats, breads and full selection of curries)
Plan menus, determine size of food portions, estimate food requirements and costs, and monitor and order supplies
Prepare, season and cook food as directed, meeting dietary requirements where required
Follow recipes and presentation specifications
Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
Clean and maintain station in practicing good safety and sanitation
Oversee kitchen operations
Maintain inventory and record of food, supplies and equipment
Adhere to all sanitation and food production codes.

Requirements:
Completion of High school
Minimum Two (2) year experience working as a Indian food Cook.
Must have thorough understanding of Indian Tandoor / Curry Food preparation
Must have knowledge of food and catering trends, quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation required.
Must have knowledge of methods and procedures for serving food, principles of sanitation, and principles of safe food handling required.
Must be able to communicate in English (written, verbal, reading)
Must have knowledge of and experience with special and therapeutic diets
Must be physically able to lift up to 50lb and transfer heavy, hot items and stand for majority of shift
Proficiency in a Hindi and Punjabi language is considered an asset
Must provide a Current Criminal Background Check.
