Description

Orano is committed to contribute to the world carbon footprint reduction challenge. The Orano Business Mining Unit is committed to reduce its carbon footprint 30% by 2025 using 2019 as a reference. Orano Canada (OCI) will contribute by studying and reducing emissions related to the McClean Lake Operation in Northern Saskatchewan.

Duties and Responsibilities:
-Lead the OCI Carbon Footprint Reduction Working Group. The working group is responsible for establishing short and long term carbon reduction objectives and the approach used to identify, assess and prioritize initiatives
-Manage carbon reduction projects from proposal through execution and operation, including measurement and validation of results
-Lead the engagement of external expertise to leverage proven carbon reduction techniques
-Report status and progress accordingly
-Other duties as assigned

Skills and Qualifications:
-A Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent technical experience.  Preference will be given to individuals with a mechanical, industrial, chemical, or process background
-Eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer with APEGS
-A minimum of 15 years of experience in industrial and/or mechanical system design, construction, commissioning, operation and analysis
-Formal project management training and a minimum of 10 years experience managing industrial projects
-Preference will be given to  individuals with a broad range of technical industrial experience
-A proven ability to lead and interact in a team environment
-A proven ability to innovate and analyse in the areas of operational efficiency and cost optimization

Work Location & Schedule:
-McClean Lake Mine site
-14 days in and 14 days out rotating schedule
-Normally an 11 hour work day, although some activity outside of normal working hours and shift is frequently required
