Youth Care Worker - Lammer House - YOUTH001598-00001

DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Location: Lammer House, Regina, SK                
Position: Full-time Permanent            
Posting Closing Date: September 26, 2021
Start date: October 6, 2021

The Youth Care Worker provides care and support to vulnerable persons with complex needs, behavioural issues, developmental disabilities, mental health disorders, and/or other related issues.  The Youth Care Worker is actively engaged and fully participates in all aspects of the children, youth, and/or adults residential experience, providing care, support, and role modelling.  

This includes interaction with a participant that may have:
extensive histories of violence and violent crime(s),

Education and Professional Certification
  Completion of a high school diploma.

Experience
One (1) year of experience working with children, youth, and/or adults with behavioural, cognitive, mental health, and/or developmental challenges.

Skills and Characteristics
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Duties and Responsibilities
Services
Provide care and support to vulnerable persons with complex needs, behavioural issues, developmental disabilities, mental health disorders, and/or other related issues.

Leadership
Provide support and guidance to potential employees, practicum students, and volunteers as directed by the unit manager.

Management of Resources
Provide input to the operational budget and the units capital plan.

Safety
Maintain, promote, and reinforce safe work habits, practices, and procedures.

Additional Requirements/Information:
The successful candidate is responsible for completing all mandatory training requirements for the position as per agency policy and guidelines.

Hourly wage for this position is $22.70 to $29.35 depending on education and experience.
