Description

The Yorkton Tribal Council Child and Family Services (YTCCFS) Inc. is seeking enthusiastic dedicated individuals to fill the position of Family Worker for the Ochapowace Safe Home Facility.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Safe Home Supervisors, these individuals will to provide a holistic approach to the wellness of the child and the family, that is based on First Nations culture and traditions, the guidance and involvement of Elders, and the support of family and community members. The successful candidates will provide direct supervision to the children in the program. The Family Worker will also provide support and counselling through land-based healing activities to children and families with traditional knowledge using traditional teachings and values, language reclamation and food/diet education and land-based healing activities.
The Yorkton Tribal Council Child and Family Services (YTCCFS) Inc. is seeking enthusiastic dedicated individuals to fill the position of Land Based Family Worker for the Ochapowace Safe Home.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Possess a valid drivers license and possess a reliable vehicle.
Must be willing to work evenings and weekends and shift work.
Excellent Computer Skills is a definite asset.
Experience & or ability to work with high risk youth
An understanding of First Nations issues and commitment to First Nation people
Knowledge of First Nations Cultural Diversity
Knowledge in Addictions and/or Mental Health
Knowledge of Indigenous historical and contemporary issues
Established proficiency in planning & analysis skills
