Responsibilities:
-Provide engineering expertise, oversight and leadership to ensure compliance with industry codes, regulations, standards and good practices
-Collaborate with tradespeople and operators to help drive and implement standards and improvements to the milling process and infrastructure
-Identify mechanical requirements and preparation of detailed mechanical designs for a wide variety of projects, repairs and upgrades
-Provide leadership and mentorship to junior and intermediate engineers
-Recommend and implement engineering processes and procedures
-Conduct formal risk assessment of new designs and existing circuits
-Work with stakeholders to solve process problems and ensure quality objectives, schedules and budgets are maintained
-Participate in the development of feasibility studies, value engineering and cost estimates to support continual improvement
Skills and Qualifications:
-Bachelor degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
-Must be registered or eligible for registration as a professional engineer in Saskatchewan (APEGS)
-15+ years related experience with pumps, piping, heat exchangers, tanks, pressure vessels, ventilation and HVAC
-Preference given to those with hands on experience working at an industrial facility
-Knowledge of codes, standards and best engineering practices as applied to mining and milling applications is an asset
-Strong problem solving, planning and organizational skills
-Effective analytical, interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
-Ability to foster and maintain good working relationships with peers, coworkers, contractors and consultants
-Working knowledge of AutoCAD/Microstation and SAP considered an asset
Work Location & Schedule:
-McClean Lake mine site
-14 days in and 14 days out rotating schedule
-Normally an 11 hour work day, although some activity outside or normal working hours may be required
