As the Specialist Engineer, you will provide specialized professional engineering advice and support to a broad range of activities related to the work of one or more work units within the Operations & Engineering Division and Customer Growth & Engagement unit. You will undertake moderately complex to very complex projects or assignments and ensure their successful completion. You will lead in the optimization and troubleshooting of water and wastewater infrastructure. The position is based in Moose Jaw; however, SaskWater would consider locating it in Regina or Saskatoon for the right candidate.
To qualify, you will have a degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Systems Engineering or similar discipline and Professional Engineer Status (P.Eng.). A Masters degree with water/wastewater focus is an asset. In addition to the above qualifications, the job requires 5 years of progressively more responsible experience in the following areas:
Municipal water and wastewater engineering
Provincial legislation and regulations
Written and verbal communications
Demonstrated ability to compile complex reports and other documentation
Ability to oversee contractors and consultants
Contract administration
Water and wastewater project design
Special Requirements: The position requires the incumbent to undergo a Criminal Record Check and Drug & Alcohol test. A valid Class 5 Saskatchewan drivers license is required. You must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
