Langenburg & District Daycare is seeking an attentive, dedicated and creative individual to support and inspire early childhood development, learning and care. The successful individual will work within a team of Early Childhood Educators to meet the needs of the children through routines, play, meals and developmental opportunities, while maintaining the health and safety of all.
Expectations:
Ensure that safe work practices are being followed
Interact with children safely and appropriately
Provide encouragement and support to all the children
Maintain an orderly and clean environment ensuring the safety of the children at all times
Plan and deliver developmentally appropriate programming for children ages 12 months to 10 years of age which embraces the vision of Play and Exploration
Record and report pertinent information
Be aware of and implement all emergency procedures and policies
Take an active part in training and professional development activities to improve knowledge and skills
Qualifications and experience:
All persons with training in Early Childhood will be considered and preference will be given to those who have ECE I, ECE II, or ECE III certification and/or experience in an Early Childhood setting
Clean criminal record and vulnerable sector check
Valid CPR and First Aid C (If not current, willing to update or obtain)

- Plan and develop child care and nursery school programs

- Observe children and report on observations to supervisor
- Discuss progress and problems of children at staff meetings
- Conduct and monitor activity programs designed for young children
- Bathe, diaper and feed infants and toddlers
- Arrange transition periods such as lunch and rest for children
