Description

Under the direction of the Health Director, the Brighter Futures Coordinator will deliver to community members, culturally appropriate and holistic community-based health promotion and awareness activities addressing mental health, wellness and healthy lifestyle choices.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure activities are in line the 5 components of the program  mental health, child development, parenting, healthy babies and injury prevention;
Provide regular recreational, social and cultural activities to promote community mental health to all community members;
Coordinate initiatives including, but not limited to child development, parenting programs, injury prevention, solvent abuse, tobacco, family violence and mental health, including any other health related programs;
Assist with and facilitating the improvement of the Holistic Wellness of our community children, families and individuals;
To contribute to health team activities and events: provide input in planning and organizing community health team events and assist in providing workshops and events;
Establishes and maintains working relationships with the Elders and other resource people;
Deliver culturally appropriate and holistic community-based projects and programs to all community members.
