Wann Izakaya Japanese Gastropub is hiring part-time/full-time kitchen staff!
Duties and Responsibilities:
-Cook various dishes based on high volume food orders;
-Prepare food materials, such as raw meat, food garnishments, and eating utensils;
-Add different sauce or ingredients to the dishes from the kitchen;
-Work with other team members in an efficient way;
-Double check the presentation of the dishes;
-Ensure all the raw materials are handled and stored properly based upon food safety regulations;
-Ensure all opening and closing tasks are completed on time;
-Participate monthly staff meetings;
Job Requirements:
-A valid work permit is needed for the candidates who are not -Canadian citizens or permanent residents;
-Food Handler Certification is a strong asset but not necessary;
-Be flexible for working shifts, including weekends and holidays;
-Be fluent in English.
-Be professional and coach-able.
-Can work at a fast pace under heavy pressure;
-Must be able to lift at least 60 lbs and stand for a long time;
-Prior experience is a strong asset but not necessary;
-Promotion Possibilities
For the applicants without related experience, if they are hired, they will have one month probationary period. During the probationary period, they will start as prep cooks and some training will be provided. With the accumulation of skills and experience, the outstanding prep cooks will be promoted to line cooks.
