The Generator Specialist will support the provision of maintenance services by providing repair, inspection & testing services on a broad range of electrical equipment including large turbo generators.
Duties:
-Promote a safe working environment
-Provide technical support and project management for dismantling, reassembling, rewinding, repairing and testing of individual mechanical and electrical components and fully assembled units.
-Perform on-site testing including but not limited to El-CID, high voltage tests, core loop tests, bump tests, etc.
-Direct qualified teams of technicians/winders.
-Interface with owners/customers and fosters good customer relations.
-Assemble detailed reports for each job which include all the specific technical information pertaining to the scope performed.
-Create project schedules, estimates and prepares consumables/equipment for projects.
-Provide process improvement input for field service work.
-Coordinate the resolution of technical issues with internal or affiliated engineering departments or service groups.
-Maintain annual overhaul plans and resource schedules to assist with divisional planning/budgeting activities.
-Provide proactive support for presentations, facility tours, visits to customer sites, and external meetings as required.
Requirements:
-Ability and willingness to work in a range of environments including repair shops, industrial sites, manufacturing facilities and power plants.
-Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally; extensive travel will be required.
-Ability to read and understand bid/proposal specifications from a technical and commercial perspective.
-Strong collaboration and teamwork abilities.
