Purpose and Responsibilities
The Customer Service Technician trains customers in the operation & maintenance of our products, assesses & pre-approves any warranty claims, assists in diagnosing and solving mechanical issues with customers units. The CST will ensure the timely delivery of parts requested by the customers with
Job Duties
- Deliver new equipment to customers and train in its use and maintenance.
- Diagnose & repair defects in equipment as required (Electrical & hydraulic troubleshooting diagnostics)
- Perform mechanical repairs on equipment in & out of the shop
- Installation of new/add-on equipment
- Repair cooling & lubrication systems, mechanical transmissions, drivetrains and final drives
- Repair cable-operated working attachments (winches, compressors, electric generators, etc)
- Repair & adjust hydraulic pumps, safety valves & other mechanical components
- Travel to customers location to repair equipment when required
- Keep demonstration unit in good shape & perform regular maintenance
- Maintain database of customer contacts, unit repairs & keep updated on product construction
- Work in conjunction with purchaser & production team to ensure adequate supply of parts inventory
- Ensure timely response to customer parts needs, ordering parts & co-ordinating shipment
- Stay updated on technical & performance information on company products
- Refer leads & prospects for whole goods sales to the sales department
Requirements
- Strong customer service orientation
- Air conditioning certificate
- Certificate on courses offered by suppliers Cummins, Sauer Danfoss, etc.
Working Conditions
- Light & /or heavy physical effort
- Visual effort required for reading documents
- Attention to detail, subject to frequent interruptions that require immediate attention
- Regular peak periods requiring an accelerated work pace over which there is little control
- Requirement to travel (local/Int.)
