Description:
The Project Manager is responsible for managing a portfolio of IT projects as assigned including one or more highly complex or enterprise wide IT and business project(s) to support the strategic, tactical and operational needs of the Workers Compensation Board in partnership with senior leadership in the business units. The Project Manager will support the establishment and continuous improvement of the standards, procedures and practices of the IT Project Management Office. The Project Manager should be proficient in both agile and waterfall project management methodologies and project management toolsets. This position will be responsible for providing leadership and team management for the assigned project team members; ongoing mentoring and support of project management capabilities across the IT division and vendor management activities.
Qualifications:
A University Degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited University
Minimum of 5 -7 years experience as an information systems professional in a medium to large systems environment with demonstrated experience in progressively responsible roles including:
Three to five years of direct IT project management experience
Experience in the use of project management software and tools
Extensive and varied project management experience
The following designations and certifications will be considered as an asset in this position: PMP, Prince 2, ITIL v3, Prosci CM
Prior project experience/qualifications in the following areas would be beneficial:
Workers Compensation or Insurance Industry
Project Management and Capacity Management
Business Process Re-engineering
Business Analysis
Self Service Web Applications
Enterprise Content Management
Data Analytics and Business Intelligence
Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be accepted.
