United Way Regina is seeking a dynamic and collaborative leader to advance the work of our Campaign for Grade-Level Reading Initiatives. The Campaign for Grade Level Reading Initiative is a community-wide effort to support more children in low-income families succeed in school and graduate prepared for post secondary, a career and active citizenship. The Campaign focuses on an important predictor of school success and high school graduation grade level reading by the end of third grade.
In this role, the Early Literacy Initiatives Manager will collaborate with children and their families, early childhood educators, teachers, division staff, community organizations, libraries, municipal or provincial government and other community leaders to remove barriers and create opportunities to support young learners. This work supports both United Way initiatives aligned to our organizational priority of addressing poverty by improving educational outcomes and the broader early learning ecosystem including parents, caregivers and family members.
As the backbone organization in a collective impact approach, the position requires strong leadership skills in order to guide a committed group of stakeholders from different sectors towards a shared goal. An experienced leader will skillfully engage in courageous conversations, shifting the focus from reactive problem solving to co-creating solutions for a better future.
