Facility: Nurses Alumni Wing
Job Description: As a member of a multi-disciplinary team within Children's Services, the Social Worker provides mental health services to children 12 years of age and under who are exhibiting social/emotional/behavioural difficulties and to their families. The Social Worker assesses children, infants and their families, creates intervention plans, provides therapy to individuals, families and through parent group provides consultation to other agencies involved with family members, and refers clients to other appropriate services. Periodically, the Social Worker also assists with program planning and may participate in interagency committee work, community development, and/or clinical supervision of practicum students
Required Qualifications

Masters Degree in Social Work
Registered or eligible for registration with the Saskatchewan Association of Social Workers (SASW)
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Advanced communication skills
Advanced problem solving skills
Ability to work independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
Advanced organizational skills
Advanced decision making skills
Ability to assist and develop policies and procedures according to best practices
Knowledge of community development

Field Hours
Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement.  HSAS seniority within the Saskatchewan Health Authority will be considered under the Selection Criteria.
