Description

Under the direction of the Education Commission, the Red Earth Education Authority is seeking a candidate to fill the position of Jordan's Principle Coordinator.  This energetic and qualified person, capable of working efficiently and effectively without direct supervision, to be responsible for identified unmet needs by seeking resources from provincial, federal, or other health, social or educational sectors.

The Jordan's Principle Service Coordinator (JPSC) is a specialized term position; that will provide advocacy of and to support First Nation children and their families as they navigate culturally appropriate educational, counseling and health supports to enable an integrated primary, acute and community service approach when implementing different levels of support and care.  Due to specialized nature of the JPSC the Jordans Principle Service Coordinator will support the restoration, maintenance, and enhancement of socio-cultural functioning by mobilizing strengths and supporting coping capacities of families.

Applicant should possess:
Being knowledgable of Trauma informed practise
Ability to handle stressful situations in a calm manner
Experience with completing comprehensive holistic assessment to identify unmet needs and develop support plans
Understanding of processes for screening, diagnosing, and supporting children who live with ADHD, FASD, ASD, and other learning diffculties
Experience in identifying and delivering mental health support.
Track data/collection and analysing to better understand the scope of children's needs and nature of service gaps.

Degree in Social work with mental health certification, educational or related profession and five years experience in First Nation Health, Social Services, or Educational sector will be an asset.

Individuals of interest applying for the position should submit a clear criminal record check and vulnerable sector search (Original or Certified True Copy required) and 3 professional references.
