Description

This Metis Youth Internship opportunity has been created to provide a Metis Youth with skills and training to kick off their career in Housing and Support Services.  
Reporting to the Director of Housing, the intern will support the MN-S Housing Department on providing support to the Metis Citizens of Saskatchewan who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.  The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

Key Responsibilities:
Housing navigation development
Support the development of Housing Case Management policy and procedures
Assist in data collection for Metis citizens housing needs in all 12 Metis Regions
Work with each Region on housing report on COVI-19 response
Follow up with Metis citizens on housing program supports
Schedule meetings for MN-S housing team meetings
Support housing case managers on collection of Metis organizations to support the most vulnerable to homelessness
Attend training held by MN-S in all department
Assist regions on housing development projects
Assist Case manager is linking Metis Citizens and caregivers to a range of community resources, including housing, health, education, life skills, clothing, food, transportation, etc.
Qualifications
Some Post Secondary Education
Knowledge and skills:
Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Valid Drivers license and access to a personal vehicle is required
Ability to work effectively in a virtual environment during COVID-19 response period

Additional requirements:
Criminal background check
Registered or Self-declared Saskatchewan Metis Citizen
