Description

The Autism Resource Centre, in partnership with the national Ready, Willing and Able (RWA) project, seeks a full-time Labour Market Facilitator. This position is designed to increase employer demand to hire persons with an intellectual disability or autism. You will link employers with employment agencies, post-secondary institutions & the business community to promote the employment of persons with an intellectual disability or autism.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Conduct outreach to businesses to promote the value of inclusive hiring
Develop/Expand partnerships with community employment agencies
Identify and develop mechanisms needed to establish linkages between businesses & community partners
Provide current & accurate information on intellectual disability and/or autism in the workplace for employer presentations & marketing collateral for business groups
Maintain ongoing relationship with RWA employers, partner employment agencies & RWA National Team
Engage in project management, administration, budget & expenditure monitoring activities
Collect data; undertake statistical analysis of data; reporting requirements

QUALIFICATIONS
Commitment to full inclusion for people with an intellectual disability or autism
Demonstrated knowledge of issues & barriers faced by people with intellectual disability or autism in accessing the labour market
Strong knowledge of local labour market issues & trends
Excellent presentation, facilitation, public speaking skills; superior written communication skills; ability to multi-task
Experience in building relationships and in working on large-scale projects
Proficiency in MS Office Applications; comfortable learning new software
Valid drivers license & access to a reliable vehicle
Post-secondary education in a related field (Human Resources, Social Services, Disability Studies) or equivalent experience
