Job Description: As a member of the interdisciplinary team, and under the general direction of the Manager of Mental Health and Addictions, the primary goal will be to restore, maintain and enhance the recovery of people seeking help for addiction and/or addiction related issues by implementing various modalities of addiction recovery programs. Responsibilities include providing informational programming as well as individual and group counselling sessions with clients. This position will be expected to assess individual and group needs of clients and implement plans to help clients reach their goals.

Qualifications:
    Addictions Counselling Diploma or equivalent program acceptable to the employer.
    Minimum of one year experience in addictions/mental health at the community or inpatient level would be desirable.


Licensing/Registration:
    Professional registration with applicable professional association (if applicable)
    Criminal Record Check (including Vulnerable Sector Check)
    Valid Saskatchewan Drivers license
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

    Knowledge of the treatment of addictions related conditions including concurrent disorders, use of illicit drugs, alcohol and problem gambling.
    Ability to function well in a multi-disciplinary setting with clients with complex needs
    Demonstrate knowledge in addiction(s) and their effects on the family unit.
    Ability to screen for addictions and/or addiction related issues and make appropriate referrals.  Knowledge of screening and addiction assessment tools and procedures.
    Current and up to date knowledge of best practices in the addiction field and harm reduction strategies including methadone treatment modality.
    Knowledge of group dynamics.
    Demonstrated knowledge of a Holistic Addiction Treatment Model, the Transtheoretical Model of C
