Blue Rock Cattle Company-Cattle Herdsperson

BRCC is an intensively managed and fully Integrated Cattle and Cropping operation based near Rhein Saskatchewan. (25min NE of Yorkton) Covering 18000acres, running 2200 Breeding Cattle and 1800 - 2000 yearlings and Grass finishing Cattle. Cropping approx 3000-4000acres of Cash crops and feed crops. We run an intensively managed rotational grazing system for an extended grazing period, targeting year round grazing along with Grass and Forage Finishing on high legume/Alfalfa pastures

Focusing on Regenerative Farming management using various different cover crops, forage crops and grazing techniques such as bale grazing, swath grazing, annual forage crop grazing.

All while using low stress cattle Management

We are seeking a Cattle Herdsperson to join our team that will be responsible for the day to day management of the Cattle and Grazing production in conjunction with the management team and farm objectives.

Key Attributes

-Knowledge of plants and pasture management with experience in grazing high energy pastures including alfalfa and annual forage crops in a rotational grazing system.

-Knowledge of Electric fencing and reticulated water systems. Installation and maintenance.

-A positive team member and team leader -Great organizational, staff management and planning skills -Production focused -Prepared to learn -Self motivated -Wanting to be an influence in taking the operation to the next level and have the ability to grow with the business. -Knowledge and experience of rotational grazing/pasture management and feed budgeting and forecasting.. -Great Stockmanship and low stress stock handling.

-Computer literate with programs such as Excell, Google Drive. We also use various Apps for data capture and farm records.

A competitive wage along with housing will be provided.
