Job Description and Responsibilities
* Management and scheduling of job tasks for the workforce of the assigned work group
* Manage attendance and adherence to working hours and approve overtime hours for their assigned work group
* Drive efficiency improvements by analyzing plant operations and reviewing key metrics
* Drive operational excellence in the areas of safety, quality, delivery and cost
* Proactively work to reduce safety risks while creating a safety first culture
* Ensure the quality of the work performed by their assigned work group as well as external contractors
* Create, plan and prioritize corrective work orders
* Act as primary point of contact for Operations on mechanical maintenance issues
* Collaborate with the Asset Maintenance Coordinator and Operations about planned maintenance activities
* Effectively manage a team of 10-12 unionized and technical employees
* Drive employee engagement strategies to produce a positive culture that demonstrates the EVRAZs Core Values
* Management experience in a unionized environment, experience leading teams of 10+ technical trades persons
* Must be proficient in blueprint and schematics reading
* Excellent mechanical equipment troubleshooting skills
* Understanding and knowledge of lean manufacturing principles
* Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
* In depth knowledge of hydraulic systems
* Equipment functionality and alignment (laser and dial)
* Strong leadership and communication skills
