Description

In accordance with standards of the Big River First Nation, the Security Guard is responsible for protecting the First Nations school premises, assets, and personnel by maintaining a highly visible presence in the school building.

Responsibilities:
    Patrol the community, buildings, and perimeter, and look for signs of hazards or crime
    Respond quickly and appropriately to calls or crisis situations.
    Observe for signs of crime or disorder and investigate disturbances.
    Take accurate notes of unusual occurrences.
    File detailed incident reports or suspicious incidents, as necessary.
    Ensure safety protocol and procedures are followed.
    Assist with security at special events and community gatherings.
    Escalate emergency situations to provincial or federal law enforcement as needed.
    Collaborate with provincial or federal law enforcement authorities as required; and Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
    Security training endorsed by a recognized training facility or institution.
    Proven work experience as a security guard or relevant experience is considered as asset.
    Knowledge of public safety and security procedures/protocols.
    Surveillance skills and ability to write reports. Integrity and professionalism.
    Must be able to work irregular hours including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
    Must have the ability to work well with people and work with minimal supervision.
    Must possess a valid Class 5 Saskatchewan Drivers license and a reliable vehicle.
    Ability to maintain Confidentiality
