Description

The Village of Frobisher is looking for a Public Works Foreman. The ideal candidate for this position will have the following skills and abilities:

Manage multiple or conflicting priorities

Mechanically inclined
Physically capable of lifting 50 pounds

Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Daily water reporting and upkeep of municipal water works
Upkeep of sewage system
Street maintenance; including snow removal
General maintenance; including mowing, building & property upkeep
Guiding and assisting in situations that employ an external contractor; including water & sewer line work, road maintenance, special projects, etc.

Education requirements include:
Grade 12 diploma or GED
Valid Class 5 drivers license; abstract may be required
Class 1, or greater, Water Treatment & Distribution*
Class 1, or greater, Wastewater Treatment & Collection*
*If the successful applicant does not hold these accreditations it is expected they will work towards completion of them in a time frame to be determined with Village Council. Education will be supported by the Village.

The successful candidate will report to the Village Council, Administration, and Certified Water & Wastewater Operator. The position is guaranteed 3 hours per day, 7 days per week, with potential for additional hours seasonally. It is preferred that the individual resides locally. Wage to be determined based on experience and education.
