Description

Permanent, casual (potential to become full-time) PCP position available with WestMed Paramedics.  Applicants must hold a Saskatchewan College of Paramedics license to practice and have a valid Class 4 Driver's license.  Must also have current HCP-BLS and ITLS certificates.

WestMed Paramedics is a busy rural ambulance service located in northwest Saskatchewan's parkland region.  We provide emergency medical services to six towns, three First Nations communities and numerous resort communities over a geographical area of 12,000 square kilometers.  We have one hospital within our response area which creates an environment in which we spend a significant amount of time with our patients and allows us to practice to the full extent of scope.  We have a modern ambulance base with an attached house for casual staff.

 - Maintain ambulances and emergency care equipment and supplies
 - Document and record nature of injuries and treatment provided
 - Assist hospital personnel with provision of medical treatment, if necessary
 - Assess extent of injuries or illness of trauma victims to determine emergency medical treatment
