Brandt is currently seeking a Planning Lead Hand for our Regina location. This position is responsible for leading a group of people working with the shop and production planning personnel to ensure Lean shop flow.  The Lead Hand understands the impact of this position to other departments that depend on the accuracy and efficiency of incoming parts and finished goods.

Duties & Responsibilities

Level shop loading for available equipment and personnel.
Work in alignment with Purchasing and Planning personnel to develop, review and confirm information regarding various production schedules.
Review the daily/weekly schedule and ensure all components are gathered, staged and ready for production prior to delivery to the shop.
Issue materials to production orders as they are staged.
Ensure that all jobs are on time to all Departments when requested.
Report completions of production orders and projects.
Communicate inventory problems to Inventory Control staff, and help to resolve.
Help reduce movement, handling and set ups through

Required Skills:

Strong organizational and leadership skills
Minimum 1 year experience in forklift.
High degree of resourcefulness, flexibility, and adaptability.
Able to work well under pressure and meet set deadlines.
Must be highly motivated, possess excellent communication skills and able to lead by example.
Physically fit to manually handle all goods, steel and products as required
Able to understand and carry out written and verbal instructions regarding departmental operations including material requisitions.
Must have knowledge of steel dimensions and terminology
