Description

Fast Genetics is currently seeking a highly motivated person to fill a permanent full-time position as a Miller/Feed Truck Driver at Northern Feeds. This position would work Monday-Friday on a 2-week rotation, where the successful applicant would mill for two weeks and then deliver feed to our production facilities for two weeks.

This position will include the following responsibilities and day-to-day functions, but is not limited to:
-Receiving incoming ingredients, weighing trucks, sampling/testing of ingredients and processing forms,
-Loading and unloading feed truck,
-Greasing and adjusting machinery as per the schedule and performing basic repairs as required,
-Keeping warehouse and mill yard clean and organized including sweeping, shoveling, and picking up spilled feed,
-Booking deliveries of ingredients to avoid outages,
-Hauling feed to Fast Genetics production facilities in a timely manner and following proper sequencing,
-Adhering to all traffic and safety laws,
-Performing pre-trip, post-trip inspections, and preventative maintenance checks on trucks and trailers,
-Completing administrative tasks, such as, entering and sequencing feed batches,
-Other duties as requested.

The successful candidate would ideally possess the following experience and qualifications:
-Working knowledge and experience in truck and trailer maintenance,
-Class 1A license and the ability to drive in all weather conditions,
-Mechanical troubleshooting skills,
-A forklift certificate is an asset,  
-Experience working with computers,
-Ability to communicate professionally both orally and written.
-Self-motivated and reliable,
-Comfortable with heights and climbing,
-Shares in Fast Genetics core values.
