Position Overview

Reporting to the Director of Maintenance, you are responsible to conduct regular and ad hoc inspections of all units managed or owned by the organization.

Responsibilities, not all inclusive, include:

Assessing and inspecting interior and exterior features
Assessing structural quality
Ensuring compliance with building regulations and codes
Identifying general safety and potential risk issues of the unit.


Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Knowledge of Silver Sage operating guidelines
Knowledge of City of Regina by-laws as they pertain to housing
Computer competence i.e. systems/keyboarding skills using a variety of software (Word, Excel, Spectra)
Demonstrate basic math skills
Ability to demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, communication, planning & organizing, problem-solving and decision making abilities
Able to take initiative, and is detail oriented, service focused, safety orientated and has a good work ethic; is responsible and professional

Required Education, Certifications, Licenses:
A building code inspection course from a recognized learning institution
A license to operate a drone
Extensive experience in the construction / home building industry is required
Equivalent combinations of education and experience MAY be considered


PHYSICAL, COGNITIVE, AND SENSORY DEMANDS:

This role can involve concentration and eye strain from computer use. Good eyesight is required for housing unit assessment.



OTHER

Must be fully vaccinated (2 doses) against Covid-19 & provide proof of vaccination
Employment is conditional upon a positive outcome from a criminal background check
A valid drivers license is required & must own a vehicle
