Position Overview

Reporting to the Director of Maintenance, you are accountable to provide effective and efficient plumbing services and repairs in conjunction with provincial plumbing and gas fitting codes.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

The prevention, installation, maintenance and repair of plumbing, heating, and cooling systems and fixtures in accordance with maintenance schedules and/or emergency requirements.
Mentoring apprentice plumbers by assigning and overseeing their work and providing feedback and guidance.

Required Education & Experience

A minimum of three years progressive, successful and related experience.
Journeyperson Plumber Certificate from a recognized apprenticeship program
A recognized Apprenticeship Certificate and a General Gas Fitter License
An Interprovincial Red Seal would be considered an asset
A cross connection and backflow testers license would also be an asset
WHMIS and First Aid/CPR are considered an asset

PHYSICAL, COGNITIVE, AND SENSORY DEMANDS:

This role can involve concentration

Good eyesight is required

Must be able to lift, bend, climb, push/pull and work in tight spaces

Must have the ability to work with heights

Must be able to use ladders, manual and power tools and have finger/hand dexterity

OTHER:

Must be fully vaccinated (2 doses) against Covid-19 & provide proof of vaccination
Employment is conditional upon a positive outcome from a criminal background check
A valid drivers license is required
Must own basic tools
Must supply own vehicle for use on the job
This position requires the individual to be on-call and respond to after-hour calls as necessary
