Description

The Health, Wellness & Abilities Coordinator develops, promotes and maintains health and wellness programs and initiatives in the work place.  This role is the first point of contact and oversees and coordinates employee sick leave and disability case management, coordinates the safe return to work, guides the accommodation process and identifies and reduces job related health risks.  This is achieved by applying the principles of occupational health & safety, risk management, industry best practices and by working collaboratively with internal stakeholders and external medical professionals.  This position must also assist with the supervision and implementation of various safety programs across the organization.

Qualified applicants will possess
-Degree in Psychology, Sociology, Nursing, Kinesiology or Business Administration.
-Occupational Health and Safety Certificate or Diploma.
-Four (4) years of experience in the field of occupational health and safety, including complex case management related to disability and sick leave.
-Ability to handle confidential and sensitive employee information in a discreet and professional manner.
-Non-adversarial approach and ability to discuss sensitive and difficult health related topics with employees.
-Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational and administrative leadership skills.

A suitable combination of relevant education and experience may also be considered.
