Description

Using a harm reduction approach, the Street Outreach Worker provides intensive and practical outreach supports, counselling, crisis intervention, advocacy, and referrals to sexually exploited youth and adults working in the street sex trade. A valid Driver's License and reliable transportation are required.  The successful candidate must be available to work split shifts as the position currently involves morning and  afternoon shifts as well as 4 evening shifts from 8:00 pm - 1:30 am which includes Friday and Saturday evenings.  The ideal candidate will be very knowledgeable of the life styles and challenges facing this population and have previous experience working with a street involved population.  They will also have exceptional communication and conflict resolution skills, be able to perform their duties with a significant degree of independence.  They will also be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
