DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
*Provide transportation for children in care including relocation/placement in foster homes, physician visits.
*Supervise children while parents meet with family service workers.
*Arrange and supervise parental and/or family visitations as directed by family service workers (monitor visitation time and make decisions to terminate visit if necessary, provide immediate oral reports of visitation followed up with written reports).
*Assist staff in site visitation and removal of children into protective custody which may require physical removal by lifting and carrying children.
*Routinely check in on clients receiving in home services to make reports to family service workers on observations.
*Provide routine clerical support to family services staff including filing, completion of reports, and documentation of home visits.
*File legal documents and serve legal notices assists in data entry on departmental automation systems of documentation and statistical information.
*Assist the Resource Worker with training packages for foster parents reflective of First Nation traditions, values, beliefs, and customs
Participate in case reviews
*Work effectively and positively with coworkers, supervisors, management and caregivers to support directions to continuously improve or enhance service delivery to children and their families.
