Job Description: The Population Health Promotion Practitioner (PHPP) provides leadership to diverse provincial stakeholders in the development and implementation of interventions aimed at reducing the incidence of cancer in Saskatchewan. This position works with Agency staff, and provincial and national partners, to develop and advance population health promotion approaches, and integrates cancer prevention strategies, as relevant, with population health promotion, primary health care, chronic disease prevention, and cancer control frameworks. This position utilizes professional knowledge and skills, along with health promotion strategies (e.g. creating supportive environments, developing personal skills, strengthening community action, building healthy public policy, reorienting health services etc.) to initiate, develop, coordinate, and/or lead and evaluate health promotion initiatives at the provincial level through collaborative internal and external partnerships. These aims are accomplished through the implementation of population health promotion strategies within the Agency and the province, furthering the Agency's vision of A Healthy Population Free from Cancer.
