Description

North Central Family Centre is seeking a part-time Assistant Outreach Worker. This position is a part-time term ending March 31, 2022.

Responsibilities/Duties
The Assistant Outreach Worker will work under the supervision of the Outreach Worker and will support the Outreach Service provider, providing Rapid Rehousing Housing Support Services to those in our community who experience poverty and homelessness. Hours of work will be Mon-Fri, 11:00am-3:00pm, with flexibility. Duties may include, but will not be limited to:
- Conducting intakes (both walk-ins and referrals)
- Assisting clients with finding and maintaining acceptable housing
- Liaison between client and landlord
- Providing follow-up supports, which can include transportation, providing emotional support, assisting with medical appointments, budgeting, etc.
- Advocating for clients
-Advocating and supporting clients access income support benefits
- Other duties as identified

The primary objective of this position is to support the reduction and prevention of homelessness in the community through the successful delivery of the Rapid Rehousing Housing Support Program.

Qualifications
- Minimum Grade 12 education
- Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle
- Some post-secondary or experience in the fields of Social Work, Nursing, Social Justice, or similar is preferred. Degree or diploma in relevant field is an asset.
- Knowledge of the complexity of homelessness, poverty, and mental health issues in the context of Regina.

The successful applicant will be required to provide a criminal record check and drivers abstract.
