Description

This position reports directly to the Fire Chief and Deputy Fire Chief.

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Create and Maintain Safety program by: maintaining SCSA certifications, safety manual, safety audits, training and education, and be a member of the OH&S central committee.
- Coordinate data to maintain underwriters insurance grading and internal Firehouse database
- Issue SaskAlert warnings on the direction of the Fire Chief
- Maintain the registry of Authorized Users for the City of Yorkton and notify Emergency Management and Fire Safety (EMFS) of any changes
- Coordinate Alert Ready System training for City of Yorkton Authorized Users with EMFS
- Liaise, as required and/or directed by the Fire Chief, with clients, organizations and groups
- Handle confidential information appropriately using discretion and diplomacy
- Create reports as needed for Council
- Update current fire department programs at the request of the Chief Officer
- Maintain accurate tracking for all department purchase orders, time sheets, petty cash, and billing
- Record minutes for Fire Department Management meetings, OH&S meetings, EMO, and Protective Services Committee meetings.
- Organize and maintain various filing systems, including archives, to track and store data and documentation and allow for easy retrieval of information.
- Present a positive and professional attitude to all visitors, suppliers, inquiries, and other persons

Qualifications:
- Grade 12, or equivalent, business/administrator course.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Programs including Excel, Word, Outlook and Access.  Familiarity with internal software systems is an asset.
- Knowledge of accounting, administrative and data management procedures and practices.
- Knowledge of clerical procedures and practices.
- Good problem solving analysis and decision-making skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills
