The Canadian Public Safety Operations Organization (CanOps) is a national not-for-profit organization focused on advancing public safety for all Canadians from coast-to-coast-to-coast. Our goal is to provide a consistent framework of operational supports and governance to advance and deliver viable and effective public safety education, products, programs, and services while addressing and filling gaps identified by communities, First Nations, first response agencies, and governments of all levels.
We are looking for a part-time contractor to act as a Project Assistant to our Project lead.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinate with Project Lead to develop and meet project goals and objectives;
Assist in the development of meeting materials (agendas, action items, and taskings);
Set up, coordinate, organize, and attend meetings through online and/or face-to-face venues;
Prepare, key in, edit and proofread correspondences, presentations, reports, and distribute accordingly.
Create and facilitate surveys to retrieve the necessary data for proper analysis;
Conduct research to gather data to assist in informing project outcomes and recommended solutions;
Communicate with stakeholders to acquire specific information needed to complete goals;
Assist in facilitating discussions with federal, provincial, territorial, and volunteer association representatives;
QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience in facilitating meets and fostering positive discussions
Project management expertise, including familiarity with essential project management tools
Strong organizational skills including personal organization, time management and task sequencing
Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Attention to detail and high reliability
Discretionary skills to manage confidential information
Understanding of Search and Rescue in Canada is an asset
Proficiency in French language is an asset
